Guest Talent Assistants assist in the operation of Disneyland® Resort Guest Talent Programs events for Disney Imagination Campus, Disneyland® Resort Community Arts Showcase programs, and Company & Client based Special Events.

Responsibilities:

Join the team whose mission is to create once in a lifetime performance and educational opportunities at the Disneyland® Resort!
  • Host assigned Guest performances and performing arts workshops and facilitate in-park educational workshops covering a variety of curricular areas
  • Manage daily logistics, transportation, and technical arrangements to be made for each assigned event
  • Coordinate all logistical details of participation in Disney Imagination Campus Performances, Performing Arts Workshops, or Educational Workshops, Disneyland® Resort Community Arts Showcase Performances, or in a Special Event both onstage and backstage
  • Stay informed of multiple details regarding the arrangements for each Guest group and of Resort and Guest Talent Programs policy
  • Provide Guest groups with complete, accurate information, and instruction to guide them through their day
  • Creatively accommodate the group's needs while working within our practical limits: time constraints, Disney policies, show standards, etc.
  • Identify potential event problems or special support requirements, and make arrangements for solutions
  • Report the details of each event including ticketing, merchandise distribution, performance and logistical information
  • Use a computer, iPhone, radio, and landline phone for daily operational communication
  • Learn and work with proprietary software to process applications to assist pre-production specialists
  • Ascertain all elements in a show through comprehensive discussion of the presentation with the group's director
  • Protect the Disney standard of excellence in family entertainment by screening Guest performance content
  • Call technical cues for performances and workshops
  • Lead Marching Band performances down the parade route
  • Facilitate pre-designed and pre-approved Park Educational Workshop content and experiences
  • Facilitate a 2 ½ - 3-hour experience in both onstage and backstage areas as is prescribed by the specific workshop leader guide with upwards of twenty workshop participants
  • Execute logistics related to the set-up and strike of in-park workshop lab spaces
  • Memorize and retain program/workshop information and incorporate Disney storytelling into all events
  • Control vehicle traffic while wearing a safety vest and carrying a stop sign to facilitate the needs of internal partner operations
  • Be the production assistant for on and off property special and festival events
  • Promote the Disney Imagination Campus brand
  • Role may require going up and down stairs, extensive walking or standing, and working in all weather conditions

Basic Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who meets the following:
  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Creative problem solver for appropriate solutions
  • Excellent communicator, both strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Able to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor in a frenetic work environment, regardless of the current task
  • Close familiarity with educational or community-based performing arts or educational groups
  • Experience working with large groups
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a team, including partnering with Cast Members from several departments and guests from around the world
  • Follow instructions and take direction, open to constructive feedback, and proactive
  • Committed and reliable (will show up for scheduled shifts)
  • Provide a minimum of two days of full availability plus a third day that you are free until at least 3pm (½ day) each week year-round, and work any holiday throughout the year

Preferred Qualifications:

Here are the top-tier preferred skills that we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Education and/or Performing Arts
  • Background in stage management or event planning
  • Practical experience with personal computers
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
  • Participation, understanding, and passion for students, education, and the arts
  • Bilingual
  • Working knowledge of Disney Entertainment Productions and the Disneyland® Resort
  • Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays

APPLICATION PROCESS
If eligible for consideration, you will be invited to attend a Facilitation Assessment (and same-day Group Interview if selected to advance) on July 26th or 27th, 2023, in-person at Team Disney Anaheim.
The Facilitation Assessment is required to be considered for this role and will only be conducted in-person on those dates.
If you have a successful Facilitation Assessment and Group Interview, you will be invited to schedule another in-person interview the week following the Facilitation Assessment.
If selected for the role, training will be in September and October 2023, and all dates are mandatory and will be shared at the Facilitation Assessment.

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; Shifts may start as early as 6:00 AM, while some may end as late as 10:00 PM. Casual Regular Cast Members must be available to work two and a half days a week, all holidays, and all peak seasons.
