Job Description:

Position Summary: The Facilities Technician I supports the needs of the facility by performing general preventative maintenance and repairs to support safety and business objectives. The Facilities Technician I will be responsible for prioritizing and promptly completing assigned work orders as well as directing contractors, vendors, and other technicians on specific projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under limited supervision, performs preventative maintenance and repairs of all types, related to facilities, in a timely manner including but not limited to equipment maintenance, basic painting, patching walls, replacing ceiling tiles, flooring, and lighting.
  • Installs, assembles/disassembles, and moves furniture, racks, and equipment.
  • Performs regular interior and exterior inspections of the facility including but not limited to conference rooms, office spaces, lunchroom, patio, parking lot, bathrooms, and other common areas, and submits work orders for repairs and housekeeping needs.
  • Participates in 5S events (five-step housekeeping practice) to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.
  • Attends daily management meetings and is prepared to report on the status of assigned work orders.
  • Works closely with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to prevent and address safety hazards throughout the facility.
  • Collaborates with outside janitorial and landscaping services to ensure expectations are met per company contract.
  • Supports the coordination of site needs related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpeting and flooring with vendors by obtaining quotes and ensuring routine work is being performed per contract.
  • Performs administrative tasks including but not limited to the following: submits work orders through the facilities management systems; creates requisitions, and processes invoices through business systems; distributes site mail; and creates/replaces badges.
  • Follows company policies and procedures and champions safety.
  • Travels of up to 10% domestically.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience required, preferably in a regulated industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience operating stand and sit-down forklifts required.
  • Experience in safely operating hand and power tools required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required.
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Basic computer skills required to perform business system transactions.
  • Ability to quickly learn business systems including ERP and facilities management systems required.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including calculating measurements required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness required.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

$24.80 – $28.50 per hour
