Come help save lives at the Blood and Platelet Center! As a Lab Tech, your primary duties include: • Perform whole blood and apheresis collection • Check vitals, such as blood pressure, cold temperature, and hemoglobin to verify donor eligibility • Process blood components and samples for transport • Perform donor recruitment in order to increase blood collections and meet hospital needs • Drive the Blood & Platelet Center team to and from mobile sites (10-passenger van) • Assist with the set-up and break-down of mobile blood drives • Perform donor registration and data entry using ElDorado Donor system • Perform daily quality control of equipment and supplies Note: • Subject to DMV Pull Salary Range: $25.62 - $33.84/hour
• High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET) • Valid California Driver’s License (in order to operate University vehicle) • Flexibility to work various schedules (on occasion, shift may start as early as 5:30am) • Must be able to work rotating weekends and holidays • Ability to work at various mobile drives • Basic computer skills (e.g. internet, email, word processing) • Excellent communication skills • Strong multi-tasking skills
