Position: Logistics Coordinator
Location: Primarily remote but required to staff in person events which typically happen on evenings and weekends. Candidates should expect to staff events several times a quarter if not more frequently.
Position type: Preferably Full-time, exempt: 35 hours/week but with flexibility for less time depending on the candidate
Salary: $62,500-65,500 + benefits
Benefits: Health care (MAP pays 90%), 20 vacation days, 8 holidays plus 2 paid office closures (week of July 4 and December 24-January 1), sick, bereavement and parental leaves, and some scheduling flexibility. Note this is for a full-time position, subject to change if not full-time.

Movement Alliance Project (formerly Media Mobilizing Project) has been a part of Philadelphia’s movement ecosystem since 2005. Over recent years, Movement Alliance Project (MAP) has developed into a hub for local movement building for justice, dignity, and power.
We’re conveners, facilitators, administrative professionals and former campaigners who enjoy working together. We strive to build the strength of the local movement ecosystem so that social movements can transform material conditions for Black, brown, poor, and working people to reflect the care, well being, and dignity all people deserve.
WHAT WE DO
Movement Alliance Project works to build a healthy movement ecosystem where organizations succeed in making transformational social change. We collaborate with organizations and alliances to develop strategy, collectivize administrative capacity, and convene groups to deepen the interconnection and solidarity within and across sectors of organizing. We provide fiscal sponsorship to an array of projects working towards social justice. Core to our organizational practice is pairing study, evaluation, and reflection with action, collaboration, and experimentation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Movement Alliance Project is currently in a growth phase. We see this as an opportunity to be intentional about the kind of organization we want to become as we continue to expand. To help us grow in alignment with our values and practices, we are seeking a Logistics Coordinator for the Movement Collaborations Department. The Logistics Coordinator will provide logistical and administrative support to assist the department with its increasing number of activities. This role will oversee background processes that are essential for successful programming. Specifically, they will work with project leads to manage event planning, outreach, and organizational tasks that are critical to upcoming projects. The Logistics Coordinator will be accountable and take full charge of all logistical responsibilities within the Movement Collaborations Department.
REQUIRED SKILLS FOR THIS ROLE
- Experience with planning community events at both an intimate and larger scale
- Comfort with office technologies, digital planning and communications tools
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Commitment to economic, racial, and social justice and proven ability to work within and across multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-gender, and intergenerational communities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
- Excellent focus and organizational skills, including a high attention to detail and
ability to problem solve
- Able to manage multiple priorities;
- Previous experience with space or office management is a plus

- Experience in community organizing; community roots in Philadelphia
- Experience with any or all of the following tools: Google Workspace, Asana, Miro,
relational databases
- Experience working in a virtual environment, strongly preferred
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Event planning to support Shift the Narrative workshop series and the Movement Conditions Assessment project. Specific tasks include:
- Venues: Responsible for securing and managing communication with venues and work with project leads to confirm accessibility needs of the venues.
- Food: Responsible for managing food (snacks, beverages, lunches) for all events, ensuring that any dietary needs are accommodated. Take lead with set up and clean up of the food area of the workshops.
- Supplies: Responsible for working with the project leads to ensure facilitators have all the supplies they need to train and facilitate (i.e. printed materials, writing utensils, etc).
- Childcare Contracting: Responsible for doing outreach to childcare providers that could support events. Project leads will help define how many providers are needed based on participant registration and will also facilitate the contracting process with the Operations Team.
- Radical Hospitality: In addition to the preparation for the events, the Logistics Coordinator will also be on site during the workshops to support our
facilitation and healing teams in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. They will also be expected to help triage any emergent needs that arise.
- Recruit and coordinate participants for Movement Collaborations programming, such as the Shift the Narrative workshop series and the Movement Conditions Assessment project.
- Lead outreach and scheduling for Movement Collaborations programs, including the Shift the Narrative workshop series and Movement Conditions Assessment project.
