Position: Software Quality and Assurance Analyst and Tester
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Background:
IDEA’s mission is to assume a leadership position in facilitating the exchange of complete, high-quality, commercial grade transactional and eCommerce content, which includes serving as the electrical industry’s standards body by setting, facilitating, and monitoring data standards.
IDEA is comprised of two for-profit businesses and is jointly owned by two non-profit Associations, NAED and NEMA:
IDEA Connector – an industry product information platform which receives, validates, stores, secures, and syndicates both transactional and eCommerce enhanced data/product content
IDEA Exchange – a Value-Added Network (VAN) which enables electronic data to be passed between companies in a competitive, cost-efficient manner.
Job Overview:
Translate verbal and written requirements/functional specifications into effective test cases/scenarios in order to conduct integrated, scenario-based User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of a complex data management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create test cases for testing data management applications to verify functional requirements are incorporated into the system design.
- Apply, design, and develop automated testing strategies and build automation testing frameworks.
- Develop testing strategies.
- Develop and identify test data for test scenarios.
- Execute test cases and document results of the execution.
- Document defects identified during test case execution and work with developers to resolve the defects.
- Create a test plan and a test calendar to coordinate testing and establish timelines for successful completion.
- Work with stakeholders and management to resolve issues and validate requirements within their specific areas of responsibility.
- Conduct quality assurance activities such as peer reviews of test cases, test plans, and test case execution results.

Education and Experience:
- Hands on experience with performance testing techniques such as performance modeling, establishing baselines, services monitoring, and profiling system performance.
- Experience with using performance tools and techniques to simulate large enterprise environments, such as JMeter, Gatling, BlazeMeter or similar tools.
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
- At least two years of Software Quality and Assurance Analyst and Testers experience
- Preferred to have Certificate in Software Testing from International Software Testing
Qualifications Board.
- Experience with Master Data Management and eCommerce platforms is preferred.

- Occasional overnight business travel may be required
