Where in the world is there a lake that is so salty that it cannot freeze? Where in the world does the sun not set for months? Where in the world does the coolest (literally) scientific research take place? Antarctica, of course! This is a seasonal position that will deploy to Antarctica for up to 6-7 months each year, the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) HR Business Partner will support participants in Antarctica. Key responsibilities include working with leadership in Antarctica to address and support the unique live in work challenges and provide real time HR support to deployed personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will identify opportunities for HR to engage effectively with deployed participants and management, demonstrate HR as a trusted resource by providing highly ethical response to deployed personnel needs.

    Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coaching and consulting; developing selection and retention strategies; and delivering on HR programs (e.g. Performance Management, Talent Management, Compensation, Rewards and Recognition, Compliance, etc).
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations to include information and data gathering, analyzing information, and validating conclusions
  • The ability to be proactive in identifying resources/strategies and formulating actionable recommendations/options for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to effectively influence and communicate.
  • This position will work with Corporate Centers of Expertise (COEs) and other functions needed to support the assigned client base.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, perform onsite review of current situations/processes, and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to interact with employees, and all levels of leadership.
  • They must be highly ethical, responsive to client and onsite needs, demonstrate strong employee relations acumen, and work to ensure satisfaction levels regarding HR support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Prior HRBP or Center of Expertise (COE) experience
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, partnering, and influencing
  • Ability to build and leverage enduring relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting investigations to include information and data gathering, analyzing information, and validating conclusions
  • Experience leading a workforce through a changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills using HR applications (Workday and Deltek), HR reporting and Microsoft office Training background preferred
  • Highly effective communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 4 - 8 years of experience.
  • Travel is a minimum of 50% and it is expected that this hire will work onsite at the Antarctic location for ~6 months at a time.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
