Alpine Immune Sciences has an opportunity for a Laboratory and Office Assistant to join our growing team. Working as part of the Facilities team, the Laboratory and Office Assistant will be the first point of contact for our Seattle office, and will provide support to the Facilities Manager and Office Manager in laboratory and office operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented, self-initiating, and provide exceptional customer service. You will be a positive and professional role model in the organization and possess good judgement, have strong decision-making skills, be able to think ahead, be collaborative, and have a reputation for problem-solving and troubleshooting in an evolving, fast-paced business environment.
This is an onsite position in Alpine’s Seattle office. This is a temporary position and can be full time or part time.
Duties and responsibilities
- Maintain and stock laboratory, office, and kitchen supplies
- Perform checks of office and laboratory safety equipment
- Manage laboratory gas/dry ice supply, lab coat laundry, and laboratory biowaste
- Operate laboratory glass wash and autoclave, maintaining clean glass and plasticware stocks
- Carry out reception duties, such as welcoming visitors and answering the main office phone
- Manage incoming mail and outgoing FedEx shipments
- Assist with various activities during employee celebration events
- Support the Laboratory Manager and Office Manager with additional responsibilities and projects as needed
- Assist additional Alpine departments and functional teams with additional projects as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working in an office setting with administrative or receptionist responsibilities preferred
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to work in a laboratory environment
- Knowledge of basic lab operations preferred but not required
- Ability to prioritize work and deliver projects completed and on time while facing multiple distractions and interruptions
- Demonstrate and role model confidence, emotional intelligence, and professionalism
- Ability to pay close attention to detail when working with complex schedules or projects and react with an appropriate sense of urgency to situations or events that require a quick response or turnaround
- Ability to independently problem-solve to quickly resolve issues to maintain business continuity
- Maintain a positive attitude with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities; must work well under pressure
- The desire to learn and grow with the business
- Ability to apply knowledge of the business and integrate it into daily tasks to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

At Alpine we engage equitable workplace strategies to ensure fair compensation. Actual compensation is dependent upon current market data, experience, and pay parity within our organization. This position is an entry-level position with a compensation range of $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. In order to be considered for a position, candidates must be located in WA and be available to work onsite in our Seattle office and lab. You will accrue PTO at rates based off hours worked and are eligible for Alpine paid holidays.
